Yes. Montessori Australia, Australia’s peak body representing Montessori schools and centres in Australia, recognises all MTA courses as quality professional development for Montessori educators. AMTI Certificates are issued by the internationally-recognised authority of quality Montessori educator education and training.
Within Australia, 50% of early childhood educators in a centre require an approved diploma level education and care qualification (or higher), with all other educators requiring an approved certificate III level education and care qualification. Centres must also have an early childhood teacher (ECT) with an approved early childhood teaching qualification. Details on these requirements can be found on the ACECQA website here. MTA courses are standalone and provide important learnings about Montessori theory and practice for educators and teachers who are already working in the sector or who have completed a generic qualification.
